Unison is one of the few newsreaders which are only available for Mac OSX. This fee-based newsreader is perfectly attuned to the platform and of course offers the usual standard features such as SSL encryption and NZB support.

Conclusion:

29 USD is certainly not peanuts and not particularly cheap for a newsreader. However, users get plenty of features for their cash: A Usenet client perfectly tailored for downloading from the Usenet on Mac OSX, an attractive "typically Mac" design, user-friendly interface for both beginners and advanced users as well as many other features besides. Unison also includes an integrated UnRAR tool, allowing users to open this type of file. Unfortunately, Unison doesn't make a positive impression in every aspect and maintain the high standards across the board. As is the case with a large number of the newsreaders compared here, Unison doesn't have a search feature as standard. As a result, users have to take a "small" detour to search for binaries via the search for NZB files. In this respect, the developers of this software still have some way to go...
